About Us
We are a small-town country church full of people that love Jesus and are serious about following Him. As an independent Bible church we aren't affiliated with a particular denomination, but we are committed to faithfully living according to God's word. For over 125 years we have served God in this place, and by His grace we look forward to serving Him until Christ returns!
Want to check us out? Here are a few things you might like to know about us:
● We have what could be called a traditional service.
● The clothes we wear range widely.
● We have a great Sunday School Program.
You can find out more information here.
● We typically try to start and end on time.
● We use any trustworthy modern translation of the Bible.
● Our order of service is printed in the bulletin.
Our Mission Statement
To…Glorify God
“To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen” Ephesians 3:21
by…Making Disciples
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20
and…Building Each Other Up
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” Ephesians 4:15-16
By traditional we mean that we sit in pews, sing hymns (both historical and modern), and our pastor preaches from behind a pulpit. This does not mean that we live in the past or that tradition dictates who we are and what we do.
Some people come in three piece suits, others in nice Hawaiian shirts, still others come in their work clothes because they didn't have time to change and know God wanted them in church. We know that God doesn't accept flippant worship, so we don't dress flippantly. We care how we dress, but at the same time acknowledge that no specific style is more sanctified then another. Dress modestly and let your style be between Jesus and you.
If all you do is come for the service you're missing out! Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. and is available for every age range.
If we're a little late to start or finish that's okay. We're also a little more flexible with a guest speaker. But we know you might have plans or something in the oven so we want to be considerate of your time and end approximately on time.
By this we mean translations that are respected in the Christian community as accurately translating the original Greek and Hebrew into modern English. Some translations we use are the ESV, KJV, NASB, NIV, NKJV, NLT, NRSV...
For your convenience we have an order of service printed in the bulletin so you don't have to feel lost or wonder what we are doing next. Just grab a bulletin on your way in the door and you'll be all set!
